FROM THE RECTOR
Dear Parishioners,
It's here! It arrived the last weekend of May - Summertime! Memorial Day weekend for some is just another national holiday with three days for family, friends, fun, and just time to relax and play.
In the middle of May something very important happened to give new meaning for this holiday. The last military service member connected to us either as a member, son, daughter or just part of the family returned from Iraq and Kuwait. Since the war began, each week we have offered prayers for those who have served in a very dangerous place. All have returned to their families safe and sound! Thank you for your prayers, for they have been answered.
On Memorial Day remember those who have given their lives in the service of our country. Also remember all of our armed forces who still serve in the middle East that they too come home in safety.
Faithfully yours,
Peter Worthington
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Philip Taliaferro Marshall and Sarvia Ortega. They were married Sunday, April 30th. Philip is the son of Betty Marshall and Beverley Marshall.

Book Circle
The ECW Book Group will meet for lunch at noon on Thursday, July 14th at the home of the Mungers, 9802 Anchorage Lane, Ware Neck. The book this month is Soul Survivor by Phillip Yancey, a well-known Christian writer. The book tells how 13 unlikely mentors helped his faith survive the church. Why had the church almost killed his faith? How did this strange group of people, ranging from Mahatma Gandhi to G. K. Chesterton, help Yancey? In telling his story, Yancey gives us thumbnail sketches of the lives of this unusual assortment of people, and gives us a new look at some amazing personalities. None of them are saints. What do they have in common? You'll be surprised!
Please call Lenore Munger, 694-5415 by Monday, July 11th if you plan to attend.

PRAYER BOOKS FOR WARE CHURCH
The Episcopal Church has authorized four Prayer Books since its first one in 1789. Others were published in 1892, 1928 and 1976. The 1976 Book was issued as the Proposed Bo ok of Common Prayer and adopted by The General Convention of the Episcopal Church in 1979. Almost thirty years ago the proposed book was purchased and placed in the church and parish house for corporate worship. These books have begun to lose pages in the Daily Morning Prayer service and the Holy Eucharist. The congregation is invited to donate one or more Prayer Books at a cost of $20.00 each. The books will have memorial book plates with space for a loved one's name. Please contact the church office if you wish to make a donation.
