Music
Music plays a critical role in the life of Ware Church. There are three very active choirs: Sr. Choir, Jr. Choir and Handbell Choir. The Sr. Choir is composed of 21 members. They sing music from the Baroque era through contemporary. Rehearsals take place every Sunday morning at 9:00. The Sr. Choir provides anthems and service music for the 10:30 Sunday services. The Jr. Choir presently has 24 members ranging in age from 4 years through 12. They meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5:00 until 6:00. They are fed supper and then play a game, followed by rehearsal. In addition to singing, the children also play handchimes and rhythm instruments. The children regularly participate in community outreach projects working with the Salvation Army to collect items for needy area children. The children sing on the second Sunday of each month, providing an anthem for the 10:30 service.
The Handbell Choir has 14 members who meet every Sunday following the 10:30 service. They perform throughout the year, including Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday and Easter. The choir is multi-generational, including pre-teens, teenagers, and adults.
In addition to the choir programs, a Summer Music Camp program takes place every year in July. The dates for this year’s camp are July 19 through July 24. At camp the children receive a musical on Monday, work on it the entire week, and produce it for the congregation the following Sunday. It is an action-packed week with lots of games, craft activities, drama instruction and singing. Camp is open to children ages 5 and older, and to 4 year olds if an adult accompanies them throughout the week.
