“Praise the Lord”
“Praise the Lord” is frequently used in the Psalm 147:1-11 which can not be said enough for the news of God’s care. We can not give enough praise to the kind and generous families of Ware. We also have enormous support for our program from our community. Nuala Galbari, local children’s author and Dr. David Justis presented an excellent program in January to the children on leadership which was based on Jesus’ call of the fishers.
February 5 Isaiah 40:21-31 Psalm 147:1-12, 21c 1 Corinthians 9:16-23 Mark 1:29-39
We continue our Epiphany series on February 5, and welcome Bobby Ray to our Sunday School classes. We look forward to learning the art of sign language to learn the many ways of sharing the message of ministering to others. The children will come away with another method of spreading the word.
February 12 2 Kings 5:1-14 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Mark 1:40-45 Psalm 30
On Feburary 12th, we once again will celebrate Heart Month supporting good health and fitness within Sunday School classes. Thanks to Kim Polley and Dawn Clark, we look forward to a fun and “fitness” morning. The children have been keeping a record of their exercise and will be presented with medals for their effort on the Sunday. We will round off the program with Dance Party.
I have included a copy of the exercise program as prepared by Kim Polley. Please encourage your children to participate!

February 19 2 Kings 2:1-12 Psalm 50:1-6 2 Corinthians 4:3-6 Mark 9:2-9
During the week of February 19th, children will be invited to use their imaginations to “climb” up the mountain with Jesus, as the curriculum states, to focus on the Sunday before Lent. The children will return to the classroom where activities include a dramatization of the story of Jesus, “On the Mountaintop” and the children will be invited to find the gospel of Mark in their Bibles. Crafts include sun catchers, necklaces and story puppets.
February 26 Genesis 9:8-17 Psalm 25:1-9 1 Peter 3:18-22 Mark 1:9-15
The Lenten calendar offers another way to explore the Season of Lent. On Sunday School will begin on February 26th to review Lent and Easter with the Storytelling Poster from our curriculum. The children will count the day through Lent by placing stones on the pathway and read aloud the phrases to the classroom. Using sponges or brushes, the children will be invited to create a rainbow on our bulletin board to remember God’s rainbow promise! For the older classes, a rainbow “wall of prayers” will be created for the Season of Lent. Crafts include making bracelets as a reminder of our promise to care for the earth.
