SCOUTS BSA at Ware Church

On 1 February 2019, at Ware Church, a group of adventure seeking young women from Gloucester, Virginia began their Scouting journey with a camp out in an unexpected snow fall with the help of several volunteer Scout leaders. They started working on rank requirements and could be among the first group of young women to earn the rank of Eagle Scout in 2020.

The Scouts BSA program will continue to teach character development and skill-building, with an emphasis on outdoors activities. Scouts can earn more than 130 badges by learning about subjects and topics such as wilderness survival, entrepreneurship and robotics. Twenty-one merit badges are required for the top rank of Eagle Scout. Troop 1651 will host a soup and sandwich fundraiser the last week of February at Ware Church. Be on the lookout for those details soon.

Ware Church has sponsored the coeducational Venturing Crew 111, a group for youth between 14 and 21 years of age for over ten years. And, this year Troop 111 will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its charter with the BSA. If you want more information, want to volunteer or join any of the Ware Church Scouting groups, please contact Jacque or Jimmy Kilduff after church on Sundays!
