One of God’s gifts is stewardship. It is about the care, support, feeding, and love of all that has been created. We are the stewards of our families, friends, neighbors and our faith. Our time, talent, and treasure are bestowed on us by a loving and caring creator. He is the “owner” of all that is around us and we are his “managers” or “stewards.” It is our calling to use all that he has given us for his honor and glory and yes, one day to be accountable for how we have used it.

Time
One of our greatest gifts is time. Here at Ware there are opportunities to share it with others. You can use it to listen, sing, teach, worship, arrange flowers, smile, sit quietly, fix coffee, lead a group or be in a place that has been made holy by generations of people. Let us know what you would like to do with your time. It’s easy – just share what you enjoy doing with others. They’ll love you for it.

Talent
Everyone is really good at more than a few things. Some can draw, laugh, create, tell stories, paint, fish, write, sail, knit and sew, make others feel special, restore things, heal, listen carefully, sing, or help sustain others. Come share your talents with us and we shall all be the richer for it!

Treasure
The really important things in life are expensive!  Annually we ask for a tithe, pledge or financial commitment. Your gift assists the church’s leadership in setting financial priorities for the coming year and it funds our mission, ministry, and parish life. We invite you to pray about your giving as it makes possible all that we do in our Lord’s name.

  • If you want to explore the different ways in which you can contribute financially to the mission and ministry of Ware Church, a place to start is the planned giving booklet, Stewards of God's Bounty, from the Episcopal Church Foundation. Planned giving provides opportunities to give to the church from your accumulated resources both during and after your lifetime. In general, planned gifts are made in any of three forms:  a bequest in a will, a life-income gift, or a gift of special assets. We all drink from wells we have not dug, and planned giving plays a vital role in our church’s ongoing ministry.  If you have questions, please contact our Treasurer or Senior Warden.
  • If you decide that an annual pledge for weekly, monthly, or yearly gifts is right for you, please send a pledge card to the parish office so that we can include your pledge in our budgeting process.
  • A one-time gift is always welcome.  We and the people in the community we serve always have unexpected needs, and your attention is important and encouraged.

To support the programs of Ware Church, you may draft a check to Ware Episcopal Church and mail it with a note, if you wish to restrict your gift, explaining which church ministry you wish to support to P.O. Box 616, Gloucester, VA 23061.  Or you can place your gift in the offering plate passed during each service.

We are pleased to offer a convenient, safe and secure way to make an online donation via debit, credit card, or electronic funds transfer from your bank. With our new electronic giving program, you can easily set up a recurring giving schedule or make one-time contributions.  If you would like to learn more about it before taking the plunge into online giving, we have some information about how to give online or you can make an online donation now.

Here at Ware you can discover the joy and freedom of sharing what you have. In our stewardship programs, we invite our friends and members to give in thanksgiving for what we have received from our Lord. We are invited to give back to him for the spread of his kingdom.
