About Us

Opportunities to Serve Our Lord, Our Church,
Our Community, and the World

Ware Church

Ware Parish was founded in the early 1650s and has continually served the people of Gloucester County ever since.  Our unique church building was constructed c.1718 by local craftsmen and artisans from England.

Ware Church offers a full program of parish activities.  Hopefully, you will encounter the Good News of Jesus Christ at Ware Church.  May you find here a place to worship, a place to learn, a place to grow, and a place to greet fellow members of the body of Christ.

The Diocese of Virginia

Ware Church is one of the over 170 churches that comprise the Diocese of Virginia.  The Right Reverend Shannon S. Johnston serves as the 13th Bishop of the Diocese of Virginia and is assisted by the Right Reverend Susan Goff, Bishop Suffragan, and the Right Reverend Edwin (Ted) Gulick, Bishop Assisting.  The Diocese of Virginia was one of the first formed following American Independence.  Today, our diocese is a strong beacon of the Good News at home and around the world.  Bishop Shannon has identified five key areas of mission and focus: Youth/Young Adults; strengthening congregations; Evangelism; multicultural and ethnic ministry; mission beyond our selves.
